Addis Alem School
In 2022, two new blocks consisting of eight classrooms were constructed to replace the original mud-walled structures that had served the school for generations. These deteriorating buildings were no longer safe or suitable for learning and put the future of the school at risk—especially in a community where most residents could not afford to support such a major project. This transformation was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Habibu Tekele, Abubeker Sulieman & Semira Afendi, all of whom attended the school in their early days. Their deep personal connection and unwavering commitment to giving back to the place that shaped their early education fueled a passionate fundraising campaign. Thanks to their leadership and the generosity of donors, the new classrooms have not only saved the school from closure but also provided a safer and more dignified learning environment for hundreds of students.
